Wildfell Centre for Env. Recovery, Wethersfield, Essex, UK

About the event

The Wildfell site is owned by Ground Control - the UK’s leading landscape and maintenance contractor which purchased site for £2m to establish the 'Wildfell Centre for Environmental Recovery'. The centre is dedicated to helping landowners unlock the potential of their underutilised land for nature's recovery.

The event will begin with indoor presentations from Ground Control's Chris Bawtree, the CLA's Andrew Marriot and FWAG East's Shaun Dowman on the opportunities, pitfalls and next steps for Net Gain, after which there will be a tour of the site to see the habitats establshing on the ground here, from multiple complexes of newly created and restored ponds, to woodland planting areas, natural regeneration zones linked to ancient woodland and challenges of meadow creation on former arable land.

Hot drinks and refreshments will be served before and after the tour (which will go ahead whatever the weather, last around 1.5 hours and takes in rough and uneven ground). Toilet facilities are avaiable at the venue. Parking is limited so car sharing is encouraged.
