Awards Evening in the Fantastic Fens

In 1952, Guy Shropshire bought 330 acres of land near Ely, Cambridgeshire and started selling earth-covered celery in traditional  bushel boxes to wholesalers. Today, G’s is one of Europe’s largest fresh produce businesses with sales surpassing £500m. They still  make space and time to care for the environment and wildlife by careful use of their land, water and natural resources, and they have  offered FWAG East members and their guests the chance to see the conservation work they have undertaken, which led to them being crowned 2022 winners of the FWAG East Farm Conservation Competition.  

On the trailer tour, you’ll have the opportunity to visit their organic production unit,  their amazing wetland habitats and other conservation projects. We’ll also be announcing the winner of the 2023 FWAG East Farm Conservation Competition.

*G’s site at Barway CB7 5TZ is large, so once you arrive at the entrance please make sure you follow the signs for the event! Please note trailers will be departing the meeting point promptly at 5.15 p.m.*
